Dear Reader,
I am currently a student at Pine River High School. At the beginning of the school year, I thought I would be excited to graduate and move on with my life; however, now I am not so sure. Perhaps you are wondering what has changed my mind; my hope is to show you not only this, but also why I deserve to graduate. I hope you enjoy my portfolio. Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself.
I have been a student at Pine River since 8th grade. Moving here was one of the best things that has happened to me. At Pine River, I have been able to excel in my academics as well as extracurricular activities (If you would like more information on my academics, feel free to check out my synthesis page). At Pine River, I am ranked in the top ten of my class. This has taken numerous hours of hard work and dedication. My extracurricular activities have also required a great deal of my time. I am involved in practically every club, and program, that Pine River has to offer. Throughout my time in high school, I have been a member of Class Council, Student Council, The National Honor Society, Destination Imagination, School Improvement Team as well as many other groups. I have also had the opportunity to serve on various school committees. All of these programs, clubs, and committees have allowed me to give back to the community that has given me so much.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines community as a group of people who live in the same area. When I talk about my community, the definition means so much more. My community has shaped me into the person I am today. Over the past few years, the majority of the people in my community have either grown up with me or mentored me along the way. They have made a difference in my life and are the reason I am dreading graduation. Shortly after graduation, some of the most important people of my community will be leaving. I also will be leaving; leaving behind some of the most important people in my life. Thinking of this makes me sad; however, I know that my community, and the people in it, will forever be in my heart, and will only be a couple hours away.
Of the numerous people I will miss once I leave, there will be five people that I will miss more than any other. These people are my family. I am the second daughter of John and Melissa Kleppinger. My oldest sister Megan is one of my best friends. We are very close in age, which has created a special bond between us. My younger sister, Abbey, is also a great friend of mine, despite our many differences. My youngest brother Jonathan is practically my favorite person. Over the past year, we have become much closer, and I can't imagine living away from him next year. All of my family is very special to me. They have helped me to discover who I am, as well as who I want to be in the future.
Although I will be sad to leave my small town, I am excited to start the next step of my life. I have high hopes and great expectations for my future (which you can read about in my future plans page).
I am currently a student at Pine River High School. I have already been extremely successful (which should be proven through my artifacts page), and I will continue to work to have a successful future. I am an ambitious and self-motivated person who has been blessed throughout life.
Yours truly,
Hannah Stephanie Kleppinger
